When I was 12 my parents gave me a school desk for my room. It was the old wooden kind with a lid on top that you could open and keep all your supplies in. My supplies at the time were paper, pens and colored pencils. After playing outside all day, my favorite thing to do in the evening was to listen to music, sit at that desk and draw. I started out inventing comic book characters. Then, for some reason, I started inventing make believe companies, drawing logos (I don’t even think I knew they were called logos back then) and making up advertisements for them. Almost three decades later that school desk is long gone. My supplies are now in this computer. And I feel incredibly lucky to be working with logos and promo-pages everyday while listening to music. Not only that; I have the great fortune of doing this work surrounded by wonderful, caring people.
